My sophomore year of High School, I was part of the Yearbook staff. It was technically a class, and our teacher was this terrifying/amazing woman Who Had Done Everything and also taught Advanced 9th Grade English (which I'd taken with her the year before) and World History (for sophomores, so I was also in that class).

So yes, that is how being on the Yearbook staff my sophomore year of High School continues to affect my style.

We would like to know who really believes in gay rights on livejournal. There is no bribe of a miracle or anything like that. If you truly believe in gay rights, then repost this and title the post as "Gay Rights". If you don't believe in gay rights, then just ignore this. Thanks.

Let us discuss why, shall we?

I, for one, found the tone arrogant, high-handed, and possibly an attempt to guilt-trip me. I succombed, sadly, but I was mad at the same time.
Also, the phrase "Gay rights" irritates me. What makes them gay? All it would be is EQUAL rights for people, and to hell what their sexuality it. We've had "equal rights" for the Women's Movement, and for the Civil Right's Movement, why can't we use it for this?

On a side note, the book A Place at the Table is a very nice, if slightly dated (1993), book by Bruce Bawer (spelling?) about our discussion topic.
